The Carnival Parade is the climax of the celebrations

Traditionally it is held on the final day of Carnival, the last Saturday in August or the first of September.

Parade entrants assemble on the Green during the afternoon and the judging takes place at 5.00pm and the cups and prizes are warded to the winners. The Green is full of colour and noise!

The Parade moves off on the route at 6.00pm and Devizes turns out to watch.

There are fairgrounds on the Small Green and in the Market Place and after the parade is over, and as dusk falls, the crowds disperse, heading for the pub, the chip shop or the fair - or all three!

If you are an entrant arrive in plenty of time and bring your completed entry form. Forms are available from Scholars in the Little Brittox or by email via the website, if you are a last minute entrant you can fill one in when you arrive at The Green but allow extra time if you are doing this. Entry is free and there are cups and prizes to be won.

Bands for 2008 will include Portsmouth Batala, Samba Sulis and Bournemouth Carnival Band.
